Starting in Marangu village, the Marangu route is often known as the Coca Cola route, as it’s the easiest way to climb Kilimanjaro. About 40 percent of novice climbers prefer this relaxed route, as it has large mountain huts to sleep in, coca cola for sale, and is a somewhat easy jaunt through the forest. It couldn’t be easier for one of the highest mountains in the world.
The Marangu route has a wide easy meadnering paths and is usually packed with people. The route takes climbers through the forest for 3 to 4 days. The last day of the ascent, which is usually the fourth, is the most difficult, and most people attempt to get to the top, Uhuru Peak, but stop at Gillmans Point, which is near the top, but still another 1 hour ascent.
