Porters Consolidating Gear

Prior to your climb at the gate to the mountain, the porters and guides start to consolidate all the gear for the entire trip. They break down luggage, food, and all the equipment for the trip. It’s even a bit more chaotic because you could have anywhere from 3 to 10 groups, with hundreds of porters, trying to organize everything at the same time.

There isn’t much space in the parking lots, so it’s a bit crazy with vehicles, climbers taking pictures and the guides trying to get everyone to sign in. There is lots of yelling and fighting between the porters as they are trying to not only organize themselves, but also trying to figure out who is going to get screwed with carrying the eggs, or the watermellons.
