Flights to Kilimanjaro


While many people want to fly to Tanzania and climb Kilimanjaro, they forget that flying half way around the world can be expensive. The cheapest flights to GET TO Kilimanjaro are into Nairobi, Kenya. Then you can take a 6 hour bus or shuttle down to Mt. Kilimanjaro and stay in either Arusha, Moshi or Marangu. The cheapest flights from the United States to Nairobi, Kenya is about $900 in the off season. In the high season, prices can be about $1000 more – making it around $1900 or more.

Usually you are going to pay between $1300 and $1700 on an average flight to East Africa. Ideally you want to fly into Kilimanjaro as it saves times, but is more expensive. In the high season, which is December through February, prices around around $1700 up to about $2300. You can also find cheap flights via Ethiopia Airlines, which flys from Amsterdam to Addis Ababa and then down to Kilimanjanjaro. There are some cheap flights out of Dubai with United Air Emirates too.
