My name is Francesca but I am better known in the BootsnAll community as Freesia. I have lived in Chicago just about my whole life and this is where I first met the Boot Boyz, Sean and Chris, back in 1997. I was lucky enough to be around for the beginning of BootsnAll, and I would do anything to help out my old friends. Taking part in this trip to Africa is just another way for me to support BootsnAll and all it stands for.
I think of it as my way of giving back to BootsnAll for all the inspiration to travel it has given me. Of course I get to visit some amazing places in the process… This will be my very first trip to Africa and my very first attempt at climbing a mountain. My family thinks I’m nuts and all my friends are jealous. I am just thrilled to be a part of this adventure, and honored to be a part of this community.
