The best maps of Mt. Kilimanjaro are not available at your local bookstore or online at Amazon. The absolute best visual maps of Kilimanjaro, that outlines all the routes, the camps, the elevations, the streams are found in Tanzania. You can find them around tourist shops, hotels, and actually sometimes touts (aka flycatchers) sell maps around in the streets.
In the towns of Moshi, Arusha and Marangu, the cost is around $3 to $5 from someone on the street to up to $10 from a nice hotel. It is a full color, fold out map, published by Maco editions, and created by an guy named Giovanni Tombazzi.
After January 1 2006, BootsnAll will have hundreds of these maps available at our office. Call to see if we have any extras.
