Lava Tower Pictures

Lava Tower is a great hike between Shira Camp and Barranco Camp. It’s a great way to help acclimate to the altitude - hike high, sleep low - as it’s an extra few thousand feet above Barranco Camp. Lava Tower is also a campsite for the Western Breach Route. It’s the camping area before Arrow Glacier Camp, which is half way up the Western Breach.

As you can see from this picture, sometimes the area is very cloudy and so you can’t see much.
