Mt. Kilimanjaro Video

Altitude Sickness

I often receive the question, what happens if someone gets sick and needs to descent from the mountain. Well, typically, and it depends upon each situation, there are assistant guides that walk the person to a lower elevation, depending upon his or her condition. Here is a video of someone with altitude sickness walking down from the summit. As you can see, he doesn’t look too good - but manages to be walking.

Watch Our Kilimanjaro Video Climb

I have been patiently waiting for the arrival of this Mt. Kilimanjaro video. A few years ago, we took a huge group of people to climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro - and now we finally have a great video - full of candid moments, interviews, amazing pictures of the mountains, the trail - all edited to great music. We summited Kili on New Years and watched the sunrise to start of a great year. This was by far one of the best trips I ever organized - good people and everything went pretty much as planned.

Monty Python on Mount Kilimanjaro

This is typical dry British humor, but a good laugh. You don’t want to find a guide like this.

Random Video Tanzania

If you are interested in seeing pictures of the city and the people of Tanzania, this is a good slide show/video. This is 100 percent Tanzania and what to expect on the street. The music is kind of weird, I think it’s like Christian rock or some church group who shoot these videos. I am not sure if all these people are “waiting for a miracle” as the song writer sings about.

Top of Mt. Meru, Looking At Kilimanjaro

Check out this Mount Kilimanjaro video. These climbers are at the top of Mt. Meru - Kilimanjaro’s little sister - at 4,566 metres or 14,980 feet. From above the clouds, the climbers look back at the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, which shows the flat top.

As you can see Mt. Meru is much more jagged and rough at the top, unlike Kilimanjaro which is relatively flat.

BootsnAll has trekking options for those interested in climbing Mt Meru.

Funny Kilimanjaro Video

This is an amusing video some guys made for their climb up Kilimanjaro. They have funny excerpts with George Bush answering questions about the climb! It’s a good laugh, good music and well worth the watch.

Lee and Jake’s Kilimanjaro Slideshow

I have posted a link to this Kilimanjaro video before, but I watched it again, and really got me excited. As the vocals on the music begin, it gets me pumped for climbing Africa’s highest mountain - all the memories, experiences, new friends made and the hardships of tackling such a great adventure.

Even though I help organize adventures around the world, sometimes my career feels routine. I get up early in the morning, eat breakfast, go to work, talk to people on the phone all day, go home, eat, visit with my wife and child, go to bed. …

Safari - Lions Mating

Well, this isn’t really about climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, it’s about lions climbing each other. When you see lions on safari in Africa, they are usually sleeping, sometimes times they are waiting patiently for the next dumb zebra or wildebeast to walk by them, or they might be seen doing this. High five!

Chen Daddy’s Kilimanjaro Video Library

I have to say, this is one of the funniest videos of some Kilimanjaro climbers. The main guy, known as “Chen Daddy” is hilarious with all his comments about NOT making it to the summit of Kilimanjaro on the easier Marangu route.

The first 10 seconds of the video is black, without any visual. But you will see a picture eventually. Watch it! And there is some dirty language in the video, but it’s all a good laugh.

Mount Kilimanjaro Descent - Scree Slope Video

In this video of Mount Kilimanjaro, you can get a good idea of how big the scree descent is, and how you can literally jog down it. It looks like they are assisting a disabled climber coming down the mountain, but I am not quite sure. At the end of the video, look at how steep the slope is. This route is used to descend from the Machame Route. This area is just below Stella Point in an area called the South East valley.
